Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the manufacturing of residential and commercial windows by assembling components, operating production equipment, and performing quality inspections. This role helps ensure that windows are produced safely, accurately, and in accordance with established quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble window components including frames, sashes, glass units, hardware, and weatherstripping.
• Operate production equipment such as saws, welders, glazing stations, CNC machines, drill presses, and assembly line machinery.
• Handle and install glass safely in accordance with company procedures and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Measure and inspect materials and finished products to verify quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications to complete tasks correctly.
• Apply sealants, fasteners, and hardware as required to meet product specifications.
• Package and prepare finished windows for shipment, including packing and labeling as needed.
• Load and unload materials and products to support production flow.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and production tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and glass-handling protocols.
• Identify and report product defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervision promptly.
• Assist in other production areas as needed to help meet overall production goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general production, assembly, or general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate basic production machinery and equipment, including machine operation and machine operating tasks.
• Skill using hand tools and power tools safely and accurately.
• Ability to measure accurately using a tape measure and other basic measuring devices.
• Experience with packaging, packing, loading, and unloading materials or finished goods.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
• Strong attention to detail for inspection and quality checks.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and handle glass and other materials safely in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in window, door, or glass manufacturing.
• Experience in vinyl welding, glazing, or fabrication.
• Forklift or material-handling equipment experience, or willingness to be trained.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
• Comfort working in a production or assembly-line setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and assist in multiple production areas as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a semi climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on window production. You will work around production equipment such as saws, welders, glazing stations, CNC machines, drill presses, and assembly lines, as well as hand tools and material-handling equipment. The environment is fast-paced and requires standing, moving materials, and handling glass and other components throughout the shift. The facility maintains a clean and organized workspace, supported by 5S standards, to promote safety, efficiency, and comfort while performing daily tasks.

This is a Contract position based out of Lorton, VA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lorton,VA.
