The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. POSITION SUMMARY

During this internship the selected candidate will provide programmatic and project engineering support to the various STATE – Special Tooling and Test Equipment - Programs throughout multiple aerospace platforms that are active or in proposal/development stages.

The selected candidate will gain exposure to STATE – Special Tooling and Test Equipment – instrumental for transitioning new products from engineering development to a production environment. The selected candidate will learn how to provide technical program management and project engineering services while gaining exposure to engineering content and data – drawings, models, analyses, spreadsheets, reports, etc.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects by collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Drives technical projects forward by bridging gaps between engineering and business stakeholders, focusing on proactive communication, technical curiosity, and ownership of deliverables.
  • Key responsibilities include creating project timelines, tracking milestones, identifying risks, and facilitating communication across teams acting as a force multiplier during the product lifecycle, helping to unblock teams, and managing risks rather than just completing tasks.

Skills And Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate, community college, or accredited technical program and be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Postgraduate student by the start of summer, pursuing Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Industrial, or related degrees.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.5 or above cumulative GPA desired
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with coworkers on cross-function teams from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution style

Salary Range

Hourly Range (Inglewood only): $23.00 to $25.00 Hourly. Pay rate is based on skills, education, and experience.

Duration

Two to three (2-3) months. Deadlines for assigned tasks and duties will be defined at time of assignment definition
