Job Title: DevOps Engineer Jr

Location: Onsite (Boston, MA Required)

Clearance Level: Secret Clearance (Required; Interim acceptable to start)

Required Experience: 8+ years

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer Jr. to support enterprise cloud architecture design, development, and integration efforts within secure federal environments. This role involves working across multi-cloud platforms to build scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. The selected candidate will contribute to cloud architecture, DevOps/DevSecOps implementation, and system integration, while supporting modernization initiatives and maintaining high availability and performance across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and integrate cloud architectures and solutions across enterprise environments
• Support the implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native applications
• Lead requirements analysis, system design, and architecture development for complex cloud and hybrid systems
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable automated deployment and integration
• Architect and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies
• Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, monitoring, logging, and compliance controls
• Perform system integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting across cloud environments
• Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and availability
• Conduct technical evaluations and trade-off analyses for architecture decisions
• Support cloud modernization and migration initiatives from legacy systems
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and design reviews for engineering teams
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards, policies, and federal compliance requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master s: 6+ years | PhD considered in lieu of experience)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or cloud architecture
• Active or Interim Secret Clearance (ability to maintain required)
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT Level II Certification)
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
• Experience implementing DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud security
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD or USAF cloud environments (e.g., Cloud One, Platform One)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Familiarity with Identity and Access Management solutions (Active Directory, Azure AD, IAM)
• Experience with OpenShift or advanced Kubernetes platforms
• Experience working with external vendors and partners on cloud solutions

Certifications:

• Required: IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
• Preferred: IAT Level III Certification (for security-focused responsibilities)
• One or more cloud certifications, such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (SysAdmin), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Server)
