The Department of Orthopaedics at New England Baptist Hospital and The Carl J Shapiro Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, (both affiliates of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH)), seek applications and nominations for a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with strong clinical experience, and an established record in orthopaedic education and research. This is an employed position of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc. (HMFP).
The incumbent is expected to provide exceptional clinical expertise in management of complex adult spine pathophysiology, and support clinical, educational, and research activities within the Divisions of Spine Surgery at NEBH and BIDMC, including covering shared spine call (with neurosurgery) at BIDMC, a level 1 trauma center in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Area.
The candidate will be appointed as teaching faculty at NEBH and BIDMC and contribute to developing impactful educational, academic and research programs at both institutions. Academic appointment at Harvard Medical School is available to qualified candidates and will be commensurate with experience, training, and scholarly achievement. Faculty appointment decisions are solely the purview of HMS. Alternative academic appointment via NEBH is available for candidates not interested in pursuing an HMS appointment.
Clinical practice will be based at New England Baptist Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, with additional clinical opportunities or requirements for practice at other sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network.
Candidates must have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency training program, a spine subspecialty fellowship, be board certified/board eligible, and be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. A competitive base salary will be offered with incentives for clinical productivity. A robust package of benefits is also provided through HMFP.

Pay Range:
$250,000 - $800,000The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
