Title : Roofer - Commercial
Location : Kotzebue, AK
Status : Full Time, Temporary

Position Summary :

KIC Construction is looking to hire a Roofer to install new metal roofs while following OSHA regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities :

• Install roofing systems in compliance with manufacturer specifications
• Perform installation of new roofing structures
• Measure, cut, lay, and secure roofing materials accurately
• Handle and apply waterproof rubber and thermoplastic roofing compounds
• Work with a wide range of roofing materials and systems
• Operate various construction tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks efficiently
• Maintain professional working relationships with coworkers, subcontractors, and clients
• Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure all work meets job specifications, safety standards, and OSHA requirements
• Install systems following material manufacturer requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements :

• 5+ years' roofing experience as a skilled laborer
• Experience working with various roofing materials
• Experience installing and repairing roofs
• Ability to work on steep slopes
• Experience operating material handling equipment
• Must be able to work with waterproof rubber or thermoplastic compounds
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Work well in a team environment
• Must have an Uncompromising Commitment to Safety!

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in extreme cold in the winter months
• Work may be conducted inside and outside the building

Physical Demands:

• Frequently lifting and moving materials and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance
• Must be able to work on steep sloped roofs, bend, crouch and climb ladders
